报告摘要:
The Polyhedral Model is a representation of repetitive computations, e.g.loops, that help extracting
the potential parallelism of a program or an algorithm and generating a parallel implementation. This
In this talk, we address the question of modularity in the Polyhedral Model. Starting from the Alpha language,
an abstract functional representation of regular computations based on recurrence equations, we explain how the
Polyhedral Model can be extended to represent computations modules that can be used to represent various

Patrice Quinton graduated from the Ecole Nationale Sup´erieure d’Informatique et Math´ematiques Appliqu´ees de
Grenoble ( Ensimag) in 1972, and obtained a PhD in Computer Science from the Universit´e de Rennes 1 in 1980.
He was successively engineer at the French National Center for Telecommunications in Lannion, France, (now Orange-Labs), from 1974 to 1979, then cnrs full-time researcher at Irisa in Rennes. From 1982 to 2000, he has been heading

Patrice Quinton’s scientific interests are parallel computations, parallel hardware, design of integrated circuits,
methods for the design of parallel architectures and algorithms. He recently developed some interest for sensors
and sensor networks. He is currently member of the cairn Inria-Irisa research team.Patrice Quinton is author or co—author of more than 100 publications on these research subjects. He is the coauthor with Yves Robert of a book,Algorithmes
et architectures systoliques, Masson, 1989, devoted to specialpurpose parallel architectures, and translated in english.
