Research in science and technology is one of the foundation and developing engine of modern human society. In this talk,

 Professor Qu will share with us some specific methods, making scientific research not only easy to manage, 

but also more likely to have high efficiency and high quality results.

 

个人简介:

Yanzhen Qu currently is the dean and a professor in Computer Science and Information Technology at Colorado Technical University–Southern Colorado, USA. Dr. Qu received his B.Eng. in Electronic Engineering from Anhui University, China in 1982, his M. Eng. in Electrical Engineering from Chinese Science Academy, China in 1984, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Concordia University, Canada in 1991. Over his 20 years industrial career, he has served at various senior or executive level product R&D and IT management positions at several multinational corporations, including Nortel, Bell Canada, Cognos, Ticketmaster and Nautilus. He was also the chief system architect and the development director of several world first very large real-time commercial software systems. Among them the world first 100% barrier free electronic toll highway management technology has been widely used by many toll highways in Canada, United States and Israel. After more than 15 years it still represents the world best technology for toll highway management.  As the Senior Vice President of Product R&D in a division of Ticketmaster, Dr. Qu led his engineering teams across four countries successfully created the world first commercial web-based ticketing technology. During his time at Nautilus, Dr. Qu led his R&D teams invented several the world first innovative digital fitness technologies to lay down the foundation for the next generation of fitness equipment. At CTU, Dr. Qu is the dissertation supervisor of over dozen computer science doctoral students,and his recent research interests include net-centric computing, cloud computing platform and strategies, cyber security, security risk mitigation, data engineering, software profitability, cloud-based data-warehouse, software engineering process and methods, soft computing, data mining over non-structured data, master data management, scalable enterprise information management system, portable digital fitness technology, digital-waste-free computing  as well as embedded and mobile computing.He is also a productive academic publisher in the international conferences and professional journals.
