报告摘要:

Nanoparticles trapped by optical forces in vacuum are providing increasing insight into physical processes at mesoscopic scales, displaying promise as detectors of weak forces and interactions, facilitating hybrid platforms that couple mechanical motion to electron spin and charge, and aiming to perform fundamental tests of quantum mechanics and gravity. In this talk, I will discuss a new capability to the field of levitated optomechanics—a phonon laser. I will present our theoretical proposal and an experimental demonstration of the phonon laser based on the center-of-mass oscillation of a silica nanosphere levitated in an optical tweezer under vacuum.

报告人简介:

葛文超,美国德州农工大学(Texas A&M University)博士后。曾在美国罗彻斯特理工(Rochester Institute of Technology)以及马里兰大学(University of Maryland)进行博士后研究工作。主要从事量子物理及其在量子光学和量子信息当中的应用研究,研究体系包括光机械振子、腔电动力学、离子阱等。已发表SCI论文十余篇,其中以第一作者发表Phys. Rev. Lett. 1篇,Phys. Rev. A 6篇。
