World globalization processes pose similar environmental challenges to different regions worldwide, whereas water and land sustainability are common issues in both the eastern Mediterranean and half the globe away to China. The presentation will interduce basic
characteristics of the Middle East, which is a colonial term for the eastern Mediterranean and the conjunction to the Far East that the synonym for the south east Asia region. Following that there will a basic regional review of some key environmental aspects and an integrative discussion reviling causes and results of these environmental challenges.
